STAID - Steady and serious in manner, reliable, consistent, set in ones ways, reluctant to change. One who is settled and has become fixed.
Status Quo have built a reputation on a repetitive formula and are the epitome of the steady state. After establishing their trademark style around 1970 their reputation preceded them and they became an institution which could be said defines the term 'staid'. After over 40 years of constant touring, Quo have established a following unparalleled by any other band. The loyal support of Quo fans is as relentless as Quo’s schedule. As Quo fans are aware, in their 70’s heyday Quo were without doubt the tightest rock solid Rock’n’roll band on the planet. With their instantly recognisable style they achieved a unique “perfection”. The members of Staid as Quo are Quo fans on a particular mission. They are dedicated in the pursuit of recreating this perfection. Set in their ways and VERY reluctant to change! This band truly is as Staid as Quo. Staid as Quo are taking a break from their constant live gigging while they search for a new Rick Parfitt. Hopefully they will be back 'heads down rockin' on up and down the country' before too long. In the meantime, there are plans afoot for a studio project with brand new material in the classic Quo stylee - watch this space! |

As announced in late 2009, Jim Faupel has departed company with Staid As Quo, leaving large shoes to fill. Potential Parfitts should be able to play and sing Rick Parfitts parts AUTHENTICALLY, willing and able to travel the UK and Europe and preferably have a good sense of humour. Image would be a bonus, but the essential is the ability to play Quo style PROPERLY. Applicants should contact us via contact details page on this website. |

So, here we go again…… Have you ever actually looked at a map of the United Kingdom and seen just how bloody far away Elgin is? Clue – Ma Kelly’s in Holland is 451 miles from my house and is nearer than Elgin… On the satnav, just after Fochabers (for that was actually the place we were headed) there is just an icon of a dragon (and sod all between you and the North Pole).
